Workflow Tips
Efficient Course Building
- Start with Structure: Use “Manage Units” to create your learning sections
- Populate with Content: Add existing activities from your library to appropriate units
- Fill Content Gaps: Use “Generate Unit Activities” for AI-assisted content creation
- Create Specific Activities: Use “Create Activity” for custom activity development
- Review and Sequence: Check activity flow and use numbering for optimal progression
AI Generation Best Practices
- Clear Instructions: Provide specific, detailed instructions for unit activity generation
- Progressive Building: Generate activities in batches and refine based on results
- Review Prompts: Carefully review and modify AI-generated activity plans when needed
- Monitor Progress: Use the progress indicator to track generation status
ℹ️
The edit interface supports both top-down (create structure first) and bottom-up (add activities first) course building approaches. Use the unit management for structural organization and activity search for content population.
⚠️
Unit deletion removes all activities from that unit. Consider moving important activities to other units before deleting a unit. Major structural changes after publishing may affect student progress tracking.
Best Practices
Course Structure Design
- Logical Flow: Arrange units in pedagogically sound sequence using drag-and-drop
- Balanced Distribution: Ensure even activity distribution across units
- Clear Unit Titles: Use descriptive titles that reflect learning objectives
- Progressive Complexity: Sequence activities from foundational to advanced
Activity Management
- Mixed Activity Types: Combine different activity types (Interactive, Assessment, etc.) for engagement
- Demo Selection: Choose representative activities for demonstration purposes
- Metadata Consistency: Ensure activities have proper subject, grade level, and type labels
- Regular Reviews: Periodically check activity sequence and unit organization
Technical Considerations
- Validation: Address unit validation errors (empty titles, duplicates) before saving
- Performance: Large syllabi with many activities remain responsive with virtual scrolling
- State Management: Changes are reflected immediately in the UI while maintaining data integrity
- Error Handling: Clear error messages and recovery paths for failed operations
