Courses

Courses are the assignable learning units that tie a syllabus to your school’s classes. Once a course is created, it can be assigned to one or more classes, giving students a structured path through the syllabus content.

The Course List

Navigate to Content Management → Courses to access Course Management. The page is split into two tabs:

  • Active Courses — courses currently in use or available to be assigned to classes
  • Archived Courses — courses that have been deactivated and are no longer assignable

The table displays the following columns for each course:

ColumnDescription
NameThe course title
DescriptionA short summary of the course
Duration (hrs)Total estimated duration in hours
Created DateThe date the course was created
ActionsAvailable actions for that course

You can use the search bar (top-right) to filter courses by name, and control how many entries are shown per page using the Show entries selector at the bottom.

Adding a Course

Click the + Add Course button (top-right) to open the Add New Course dialog. Fill in the required fields:

  • Course Name — a clear, descriptive title for the course
  • Description — a summary of what the course covers
  • Syllabus — select a syllabus from the dropdown; only syllabuses available in your Syllabus Library will appear here
  • Duration (hours) — the estimated total time to complete the course, in hours

Click Add Course to save, or Cancel to discard.

Note: A course must be linked to a syllabus. Make sure the syllabus you need is already in your Syllabus Library before creating a course. If it’s missing, it either needs to be published by your linked Curriculum Designer or obtained through a purchased product.

Course Actions

Click Actions on any course row to reveal the available options:

Edit

Opens the Edit Course dialog, pre-filled with the course’s current information. You can update:

  • Course Name
  • Description
  • Duration (hours)
  • Syllabus — reassign the course to a different syllabus if needed

Click Save Changes to apply, or Cancel to discard.

Archive

Moves the course to the Archived Courses tab. Archived courses are no longer assignable to classes but remain in the system for reference. This is useful when a course is no longer active but you don’t want to permanently delete it.

Delete

Permanently removes the course from the system. This action cannot be undone.

Tip: If you’re unsure whether a course will be needed again, prefer Archive over Delete to keep a record without cluttering your active course list.
